Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Sloto mobile application, website (sloto.ie), and related services (together, "the Service"), operated by Jayesh Paliwal (trading as Sloto), based in Dublin, Ireland. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.

1. About Sloto

Sloto is a parking information app that shows on-street parking locations in Dublin, including hours of operation and rates. The Service is an information tool only. Sloto is not a payment platform; all parking charges must still be paid at the meter.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Sloto. By using the Service, you confirm that you are 16 or older. If you are under 16, you must not create an account or purchase a subscription. We may terminate any account that we reasonably believe belongs to a person under 16.

3. Accuracy of Parking Information

⚠️ Parking data shown in Sloto may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Always check physical signs at the parking location before leaving your vehicle.

Sloto's parking database has been built through independent research and on-the-ground verification of Dublin's on-street parking. We continuously improve our data using reports submitted by our users. While the app recalculates parking status (free, paid, no-parking) in real time based on time-of-day rules, the underlying zone, rate, and operating-hours data is updated periodically and may not reflect the most recent changes made by councils.

You are solely responsible for ensuring your parking is legal and for paying any applicable charges. Sloto accepts no responsibility for parking fines, clamping, towing, or any other consequences arising from reliance on information shown in the Service.

4. No Liability for Fines or Penalties

Sloto is not liable for any parking fines, penalty charge notices, clamping fees, towing charges, or any other costs incurred as a result of using the Service. It is your responsibility to read and comply with all parking signs and regulations at any location.

5. Subscription & Billing

Plans and free trial

Sloto Premium is offered in two billing periods: monthly and annual. New subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period; billing begins automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel beforehand.

Auto-renewal

Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. To cancel, open your device's subscription settings (Apple ID → Subscriptions on iOS, Google Play → Subscriptions on Android).

Pricing and currency

All prices are shown in Euro (€) and include VAT where applicable. Prices are displayed on our website and in-app at the time of purchase. We may change prices at any time; existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days before any price change takes effect.

Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a digital-services contract. By starting your subscription or free trial and beginning to use the Service, you expressly request that the Service starts immediately and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once the Service has begun.

Refunds

Subscriptions are non-refundable for partial periods. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not refund the remainder of the current billing period. Refund requests are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play according to their respective policies.

6. User Conduct

When using Sloto you agree not to:

  • Submit false or misleading parking reports or wrong-info reports
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or scrape the app or its data
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to disrupt or damage the Service or its infrastructure
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity

7. User Generated Content

When you submit a parking availability report, wrong-info report, or new-spot report, you grant Sloto a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use that information to operate and improve the Service. You confirm that any information you submit is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

8. Disclaimer of Warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. While we work hard to keep Sloto accurate, reliable, and useful, we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that parking information will be complete or current.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any statutory rights you have as a consumer under Irish or EU law that cannot be excluded.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sloto's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or damage to any device.

This limitation does not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Irish law.

10. Availability of the Service

We aim to keep Sloto available at all times but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical issues, or events beyond our reasonable control. We are not liable for any inconvenience caused by downtime.

11. Intellectual Property

All content in the Service — including the name "Sloto", the logo, design, code, and copy — is the property of Jayesh Paliwal (trading as Sloto). You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

Parking data is based on public open data from the relevant Irish local authorities (Dublin City Council, Fingal County Council, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council) and is used subject to the licences published by each authority.

12. Complaints

If you have a complaint about the Service, please contact us at legal@sloto.ie. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 3 working days and resolve them within 30 days.

As an EU consumer, you are also entitled to use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising from use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be notified to existing subscribers by email or in-app notice at least 30 days before they take effect. Minor changes take effect when posted. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the Terms were last revised. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Severability

If any part of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining parts will continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, make up the entire agreement between you and Jayesh Paliwal (trading as Sloto) regarding your use of the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
